I’m in Minneapolis right now for the Twins-Yankees game (yes, I know they aren’t doing very well, but I am a fan, no matter what) and other site seeing. For now, this gives me a lot of time to think about Otakon 2008, the convention of otaku generation version 15.0. First, I’ll discuss the good things about Otakon, the bad and the really F&#$ed up. More after the jump-off.
Otakon 2008 – The lengthy re-cap. More like a review.

Otakon 2008 – Pictures are up!

Still recovering from the fallout in my bed (and I have to catch a flight to Minneapolis in a few hours!), Otakon 2008 killed it. (read: very good). I have uploaded More than 250 pictures from the event in Baltimore, MD. Externally, these pics will link to Flickr. So fav them and tell all your friends about them. Also, it would really help if you could “fill in the blanks”. I might work on adding more detail, but I am strapped for time. BTW, editing 250+ pictures on limited time is TEDIOUS. See ALL my photos after the jump. (Warning: Image heavy.)
Otakon 2008 – The really tired quick re-cap.

Another Otakon is in the books. I spent probably an eqivalent of walking 1 entire day through the bcc and Baltimore. Perhaps I was too ambitious and didn’t get to everything that I wanted to do. Until cloning is possbile, I must be selective in what I want to do.
According to the closing ceremonies, attendance was at a record 26,000 people, which I’m certain will be eclisped by the new Hilton that will be open next year. It sure felt like 26,000 people, as I got shut out of many panels this weekend.
I had hoped to get more display photos, but the combo of waiting on lines and doing the panels that I could get really cut the time for that. If I ever decide to go to the New York Anime Fest, I might devote more time to that.
Other than that, my roomates were cool and I met some friends and got a lot of new twitter followers along the way. I’ll post more about the con and showcase some photos via Flickr once I get home and get rest after I step foot in Minneapolis. Speaking of Minny, I reveal more of that shortly.
