Otakon 2008 – The lengthy re-cap. More like a review.

Otakon 2008 - 086

I’m in Minneapolis right now for the Twins-Yankees game (yes, I know they aren’t doing very well, but I am a fan, no matter what) and other site seeing. For now, this gives me a lot of time to think about Otakon 2008, the convention of otaku generation version 15.0.  First, I’ll discuss the good things about Otakon, the bad and the really F&#$ed up. More Rugrats on iTunes – AT LAST!

Yes.

Yes.

Yes, I know they have the 1st Christmas special available up there, but this is more significant than that. Today, Viacom made themselves useful today by providing more classic Nickelodeon shows available online via the iTunes Store. Other shows were released, but I don’t care about “The Amanda Show” or “The Wild Thornberries”. Vol 1 of “The Best of Rugrats”, which consists of 7 episodes (all pre-1995) are available for the price of $10.99 or $1.99 each. I would prefer getting complete seasons on DVD, but this is as close as we will get for now. Perhaps if we buy these shows in great numbers, it might convince Viacom to get more of these shows out. Most importantly, I won’t have to go to the Pirate Bay and IRC to download them illegally. Children of the ’90s, you must GET!

In case you were wondering, the following episodes are available.

“Baby Commerical/Little Dude”
“Beauty Contest/Baseball”
“Real or Robots?/Special Delivery”
“Circus Angelicus/The Stork”
“When Wishes Come True/Angelica Breaks a Leg”
“Destination Moon/Angelica’s Birthday”
“The Alien/Mr. Clean”
