Stay Classy Long Island – Wal-Mart Worker killed on Black Friday

I’m so glad that I am not working at a retail establishment on Black Friday. While millions of people are off, many who work in retail are not. Most likely, they really hate you for the fact that you are off looking to buy cheap crap that most people will forget about shortly after Christmas or return the day after. They REALLY hate you for the fact that you will do whatever it takes to get a doorbuster deal. And they REALLY, REALLY hate you when you literally bust down the doors to get to said cheap stuff.

Normally on this day, incidents involving a stampede of shoppers will make the headlines and amuse those who work on that day or who are wisely avoiding shopping on this day. Unfortunately, it must be either the economy or really good deals that Wal-Mart was offering. In the early morning, an overnight Wal-Mart worker died while hundreds walked over him to get some soon-to-be worthless gifts. Not only that worker died, but a pregnant woman who was in the crowd got trampled and lost her child. Update: It looks like the pregnant woman DID NOT have a miscarriage.

My condolences are out the the affected families of this mishap. I absolutely have no sympathy for the crowds who caused this to happen save for the woman who lost her child, but don’t you think it’s unwise for a pregnant woman to be in a situation like this?
